Money 01:33
Is it money that makes you happy? Freedom from thrift Is that what it is? Maybe your satisfied with living alone With a room and balcony Is it money that makes you happy? Freedom from thrift Is that what it is? Hands on the wheel A driver in control But I’ll be riding my Peugot Anywhere I go At the end of the day I’d rather it be free But maybe that’s just me
2.
Hammer 02:08
A hammer’s always thinking everyone’s a nail When she’s been out drinking men bet that she’s for sale Johns spend all their paper buy her liquor and her blow Barman keeps the paper tells her babe you’d better go A hammer’s never thinking when he’s banging on a nail Spit to keep from shrinking damn that powder and that ale He’s so cold he’ll waste leave her body in the snow Newsman reads newspaper, mumbles bless her poor jane doe A hammer’s always thinking everyone’s a nail That won’t help you sinking when that hammers ripped your sail If you want salvation, it’s best you let her go Better yet its time you trade your hammer for a hoe

The car wont start when its 40 below and you shouldn’t mix gin with misery I know And I shouldn’t have called you so late but I did A few things I learned since I was a kid, A few things I’ve learned since I was a kid You can’t say goodbye if you’re already gone and the state ain’t no symbol of freedom where I’m from And the world is good, good like a gift A few things I’ve learned since I was a kid, a few things I’ve learned since I was a kid And we’re all bound for heaven given it exists for societies hell made for my benefit And I’m a lover not a fighter, this I’ll admit A few things I’ve learned since I was a kid, a few things I’ve learned since I was a kid

I didn’t even mean a thing babe Oh yea I’m quite alright but you left your ghosts I keep my house airtight How could you leave me here all alone, you know I’m not good on my own I’ll pretend like I’m not home when you knock, knock, knock and blow up my phone
6.
When people say you’re not my kind And that your jokes are out of line And that your hair isn’t combed all the time You’re not real pretty but you’re mine We got this great big old society It won’t make room for folks like you and me But I got some real sad news for them my friend They’re on the outside looking in We got a great thing goin and it keeps right on growing I hope that someday soon they’ll see the light But until that time, we’re gonna blow their minds Cause it ain’t us that’s gonna loose the fight So when we’re walking I don’t care When all those people stop and stare If they’d just look in your eyes they’d see You’re not real pretty but you belong with me
7.
Not Tonight 02:43
Did you find what you were looking for in the alley behind the bar I made my way home in time for theories, running cross country through my mind On any other night, no I wouldn’t have cared We’re two people untethered, and you know that’s fair But something about the crowd got me feeling sentimental Something about the scene backlit by the VLT screens and you standing close to me Lord I almost caved in And though the nights are cold I can always get some air And if you know how to ask, I’ll follow you anywhere But not tonight Thank Christ Did you find what you were looking for in the alley behind the bar I made my way home in time for theories, running cross country through my mind That sinking feeling like death in summer evenings well I know what you’re holding and you know what I’m needing tonight So that’s alright I’ll take the real thing Something about the scene backlit by the VLT screens and you standing close to me Lord I almost caved in And though the nights are cold I can always get some air And if you know how to ask, I’ll follow you anywhere But not tonight Thank Christ

Lately I’ve been thinking of him And lately I’ve been dreaming of him too I wanna kill my rapist Wont you help me kill my rapist I wanna kill my rapist Wont you help me kill my rapist I wanna make him bleed, I wanna watch him cry I wanna make him plead, I wanna watch him die I wanna kill my rapist, won’t you help me kill my rapist I wanna kill my rapist, won’t you help me kill my rapist I am coming for you, you can’t run and you can’t hide I am coming for you, you are gonna die I wanna kill my rapist, won’t you help me kill my rapist I wanna kill my rapist, woman (come and) help me kill my rapist
9.
Flat Earth 02:12
Flat earth, take me home to that place long gone I could ride all night look back and see where I’m coming from And ain’t nobody gonna prove me wrong They tell you that you’re living on a ball like the one you find in a bowling alley or in a bingo hall They tell you that you’re living on a sphere spinning round and round 365 days a year Flat earth, take me home to that place long gone I could ride all night look back and see where I’m coming from And ain’t nobody gonna prove me wrong They say the physicists got it all figured out Leave it up to the scientists and live without a doubt Now you tell me without a doubt That you’re not a CIA plant and why I should trust any other words coming out your mouth Flat earth, take me home to that place long gone I could ride all night look back and see where I’m coming from And ain’t nobody gonna prove me wrong

ALBUM TEASER :: youtu.be/Tv9b3Zx7uak

“There is a nice German word, hintergedanken, which means a thought in the very far, far back of your mind. Jung had a hintergedanken in the back of his mind that showed in the twinkle in his eye. It showed that he knew and recognized what I sometimes call the element of irreducible rascality in himself. And he knew it so strongly and so clearly, and in a way so lovingly, that he would not condemn the same thing in others, and would therefore not be led into those thoughts, feelings, and acts of violence towards others which are always characteristic of the people who project the devil in themselves upon the outside, upon somebody else, upon the scapegoat.”

Alan Watts

יֵצֶר הַרַע (Yetzer HaRa) describes the wayward inclination. Not to be confused with evil, delineated in the binary sense from goodness. Rather, it is an essential part of our nature. A force to be continually reckoned with, not vanquished.

In the Jewish tradition, the ease with which one stays on their path is not inherently virtuous. Virtue lies in engaging fully with the friction that a persistent Yetzer Ra creates.

The apartment complex, colloquially known as Ocean City, stands at five stories and strikes an impressive pose on the border of the plateau-mile end and the hasidic enclave of Outremont. Among the myriad of anomalies that surround the building, is its peculiar relationship with physics. Sound, whether coming up from the allies or through the paper thin walls, seems to have a way of manifesting itself as the subconscious chatter of an active mind. It was there, in unit 37, at the peak of a sweltering Montreal summer, that we were able to develop and record these songs. The vibrations of old men reminiscing in the courtyard, torah students parsing apart the works of 12th century rabbis, lovers sharing their most intimate moments, the party down the hall still going strong at 8am and any number of ghosts moving through the decades of paint, can all be found on Yetzer HaRa. The influence is heard, woven through the song's lyrical content and stained on the magnetic strip of the maxell type 1, where the music lost its fidelity.
